Halogen lights must be submerged underwater. The glass cover is 7/16 inside diameter and approximately 2 inches long. This light can be used outdoors IF it is hooked into a 12 volt AC system, an outdoor transformer, or if the indoor transformer is plugged into a sheltered outlet.
